God still loved us with such great love (Ephesians 2:4)
Light in the Darkness Madeleine McClintock
Wonderful things, hands! Threading a needle. Wielding a hammer. Stroking a dog or eating a meal. It’s our Heavenly Father who gave us our hands to be His hands on this planet and for our own enjoyment. How do I use my hands? How do I use my arms, my body, the expressions of which my face are capable? How do I use my tongue? Alas, not always to good purpose. So, does He point His finger at me? Thank goodness, no! His arms are always there, if I look for them, to lift me up out of the pit I’ve got myself into. His hand is ready for me to take. His hand is ready to put me to stand on the rock of salvation.
Beauty Outside my living room window there’s a climbing rose on the wall. Usually, the blooms are high up and I have to be outside and looking up to see them. But today there’s a big lower facing where I sit in my chair. It’s as if this flower is speaking to me and saying, ‘Come on! Look at my beauty, look at the beauty in the world!’ Is it Father God who is saying this? Waking me up! I’m going to look carefully at this rose, to enjoy its colour, its shape, its details. Please help me, Lord, to find more beauty around me and to share this with others!
